Furniture for 10 Homes

House of Light furnished nine home in its first year. On Friday, HOL gave away furniture to 10 homes.

“I just can’t believe how much House of Light has grown,†says House of Light President, Brandy Pfalmer. “We furnished the number of homes in one day that we did in an entire year when we first started in 2013.â€

Those numbers are a direct result of HOL’s partners.

“Our generous financial donors and volunteers are what makes this possible,†Pfalmer says. “It really is a team effort.â€

There were 43 people served and among them were 32 children. 19 beds were delivered.

“When you look at the number of children with beds now, it melts your heart,†she says. “We have given away 299 beds since we began. And more times than I can count, those were full beds with more than one kiddo in them.â€

House of Light’s ultimate goal is to give every person in the Aurora area a bed. To be a part of that movement, donate now. Click Donate below to get started.

12 Homes Furnished in February

Made possible with amazing volunteers.

House of Light Furnished 12 Homes in February, giving away 18 beds to 21 people, 15 of whom were children.

“We are one step closer to putting all people in beds,†says HOL President Brandy Pfalmer. “Can you imagine the impact for the children who can now sleep in beds? It is hard to say what positive things could come of it.â€

There is always a certain amount of muscle required when moving furniture for that many homes. House of Light is blessed to have amazing volunteers! Thank you for the muscle and help!

Kicking off the New Year

House of Light kicked off the New Year with furniture for five families. In between pickups, our volunteers found time to build a snowman.

“You ladies are out rain or shine,†said our case worker for Family Tree. “You all are like the postman.â€

HOL Wraps Up 2018

Our 2018 was made possible through amazing partners, volunteers, and donors.

House of Light wraps up 2018 having furnished 53 homes, provided 77 beds, and served 304 people (including 180 children). This puts its five-year total to 181 homes furnished and 262 beds served!

None of this is possible without the generosity of our donors, the muscle of our volunteers, and the support of our partners. A big shout out to Aveo Capital, iBox Self Storage, Flatirons Church, Cherry Hills Elementary, and Coyote Hills Elementary.

HOL Gears Up for Holiday Giving

House of Light packed the storage unit with beds, couches, tables and other home goods in preparation for next month’s holiday giving day. December has always been the biggest donation month for House of Light, giving away enough furnishings to furnish between 10 and 15 homes.

Thank You, Cherry Hills Elementary

Dear Cherry Hills Elementary School,

Thank you for working together to collect bedding, lamps, silverware, and shower curtains for House of Light. These items will be used to furnish homes for families in need in the Aurora area. Those families are more comfortable, feel more at home, and have more hope thanks to that generosity!

It is with the most sincere gratitude House of Light would like to thank Cherry Hills Elementary School and its fourth grade class for their support and generous donations throughout the years. Without such generosity, House of Light would not be able to serve those families coming out of homelessness in the Denver area.

Seven Homes Furnished

A big shout-out to our teen volunteers!

Who says today’s youth isn’t great! Today, House of Light provided furniture for seven homes. It couldn’t have gone smoother. A large part of our success was the contribution of six hard working teens on mission in the area. They were the muscle behind the work and the women at House of Light couldn’t be more grateful!
